Take Time to Plan!

“The best way to predict your future is to create it.”  Abraham Lincoln

The beginning of a new year is the perfect time to take a few minutes...or hours, to chart your roadmap for the year.

It's hard to do in a world where there is so much to be done and so many distractions. We tend to get caught in our self-made hampster-wheel of busyness.

Our success is dependent on us guiding the path for our business. If we don't take time to think about where we want to go, why, and what it will take to get there...we'll never reach it.

However, our business plans can't be made in a vacuum. We need to think about our total life plan. If we don't, we may end up with another area of our life suffering because of our career goals.

We need to look at three pillars of our life.
Self-care
If we don't take care of ourself first... everything else suffers. So start with your own health and wellness. Are you happy with it? What would you like it to be? What will it take to get you there?
Relationships
Second think about relationships. Home, family, friends. If you're a parent, you need to think about how your relationship and parenting are going. Ask yourself how happy you are with each area of relationships. How would you like them to be different. What steps do you need to make to get them there?
Career
Thirdly, your career. Where is it now? What would you like it to be in five years? Dream big. What strategies do you need to use to get there.
Total plan
Finally, look at how you can blend and balance these three pillars into a harmonious plan. It takes a little work, but if you do it, you will find yourself energized and excited for each tomorrow.
